I find that everybody is more observant than they think they are, and I spend my time in the theatre facilitating that intelligence. Audiences pick up on subtle moments to create their own unique interpretations and discussions about story amongst themselves. Artists will see someone's work and use it to reframe or elevate their own. Everyone's ideas are inspired by something they see, and I want my ideas to become the journey people take to learn something about their art or themselves.

For me, theatre is at its most enjoyable when I use what is unique about theatre to its fullest extent. In acting, I use spatial and emotional connections with the audience to create a feedback loop of energy. I use lighting to frame moments such that different audience members will have totally different views of the same scene. I design sets to be evocative of both places and ideas, even though we know they don’t actually exist in the room. These are all methods of creation that I find work best in the theatre, which is why I excel here.
